Step by step

How To Redact a PDF

Black out anything private — names, numbers, addresses — and it is gone from the file for good, not just covered up.

  1. 1

    Upload your PDF

Drop in a document and the redaction screen opens over it. Files are deleted after 2 hours.

  2. 2

    Mark what must go

Drag black boxes over the page by hand, type words into the search to mark every occurrence, or let Cards, Emails, Phones and Signatures detect the usual suspects automatically — the images chip catches handwritten signatures and stamps the text search cannot see — complete with the AI scan for names, addresses and IDs. Click any mark to remove it.

  3. 3

    Redact PDF

One press and the content under every mark is removed from the document itself — text, numbers and images cannot be copied, searched or recovered afterwards.

  • Draw, find, or detect

Hand-drawn boxes, a word search, and automatic detection for cards, emails and phone numbers.

  • AI scan

The AI pass reads the document and marks the personal details patterns cannot see.

  • Destroyed, not covered

Redacted words are removed from the file — not painted over — so they can never be copied back out.

  • Private by default

No account, no watermark — and every file is automatically deleted after 2 hours.

Files stay private. Automatically deleted after 2 hours.
